Hypothyroid - effect from missed medication?

I have a suspicion that my Levothyroxine dose isn’t right (only diagnosed a year ago when I got pregnant). I don’t have the results from my latest blood test done under lockdown and the one before I only know my TSH was 4.2 and they increased my dose to 100mcg at that point. However I am still not feeling that sense of being back to normal (energy levels, mood, cold hands and feet, dry skin and weight all still seem affected). Furthermore, there was a cock-up with my last prescription which meant I went over a week between doses, and I never noticed an impact from that... so I was wondering if it would be normal to notice an effect from missed medication and how long it would take to be apparent?

I my experience it takes weeks or months to notice an effect but I am on a low dose.

I thought that, given they need to wait 6 weeks or more to recheck levels. But then my friend (who’s had it under control for years) mentioned that he can spot it within a few days if he misses a dose, so it made me wonder...

It can affect me pretty quickly. If I miss even a couple of days the first thing that happens is constipation. After a week I would be knackered and achey. But tbh honest I've been on the same dose of lt for years and NEVER feel normal. My doc insists that my levels are normal but I still have weight loss problems, lethargy and hair loss. I do, however, also often have low iron which doesn't help.

Might it be worth checking iron and b12 levels too?

I'm on 125.

@AmericanAdventure Thanks for that. My iron levels were great all through pregnancy (my midwife was surprised they didn’t drop), so would assume they are still ok? But not sure about B12... I think it’s probably worth having a general review with my GP and pushing for a full test again (and seeing my results for myself).

I’m on 100mcg and it makes no difference to how I feel whether I take it or not , my bloods always come back to say it’s the correct dose but I went about 6 /8 weeks without it a couple of years ago and although my blood results were affected it didn’t actually change the way I feel on a day to day basis .
