Fatigue tips?

My lupus fatigue has hit me like a truck. Im pacing myself obviously, no option really. But am posting in the vain hope that someone had a miraculous cure/ way of dealing with it that really works. Any ideas?

I did a fatigue management course (I have MS) which gave some useful tips, (it might be worth seeing if you can get onto one if you can). The most helpful things for me were: planning breaks in your day, I think they recommended 4 x 10 min breaks a day, "time not task" ie spend an allotted amount of time on a task rather than feeling you have to complete it, eg spend 10 mins making beds before resting or changing task, rather than feeling you have to push through and finish making the beds. Also, the difference between rest and relaxation, making sure you actually rest during rest breaks- I had previously been reading or listening to podcasts but that is not found to be as restorative as literally doing nothing.

There are some good resources on the MS society and headway websites, I know lupus is a different condition to MS but some of the principles might be worth a try.

I hope you feel better soon, I know how rubbish fatigue is! Thanks

If something doesn't need done immediately, leave it. I also take rests between tasks. It takes me forever to clean 😁.
I'm going into a Lupus flare atm and I'm lying on the sofa and I'm planning on doing bugger all, luckily I don't have small children.
Hope you feel better soon Flowers

@serenrose. Thank you, that sounds incredibly helpful. I didn't know such courses existed, I'll take a look.

Your two ideas of timed breaks and time not task sound logical, and I'll try those. It's incredibly frustrating. I did a Carol concert Sunday, then had promised to go to see a friend as it was her first concert without her recently deceased dad. I was so tired when I got there, standing up was literally a task. She said light heartedly a few days later and a couple drinks in that I was rude on that evening! Rude??? No idea how much effort to go there even if I couldn't chat much. Thanks so much for understanding, and even more so for the tips. I hope you had a lovely Christmas. X

Cocolapew thanks. I think my fatigue is beginning to lift after a week, but my bloody right side is stiff and reluctant to work again. They thinks it's inflammation around the spinal cord, buf I refused an lp as the treatment would be a higher dose of azathioprine which I was reluctant to do, but this is the 3rd time since February and it lasts about 3 weeks. I may change my mind, it's Incredibly irritating.

I'm desperately trying not to do too much as we do when we start feeling better. I just need to go out today or I'm going to go mad.

Hope your flare isn't a real one and it stops before getting full blown. It's a bugger. Xx

Towelling robe specifically for drying yourself so that after showering you can put it on and lie down to rest if you need to while it dries you and keeps you warm. Plus it's easier to dry yourself with than a towel even if you don't need to rest straight away.

That's a good one. Thank you.
