Autoimmune thyroid and perimenopause.

I've had thyroid problems for 12 years. I have Hashimotos and Graves antibodies, at one point my tsh was 450 plus, but I was eventually stabilised and i've been ok on 250mg T 4 and 30mg T 3 for the past 8 years.

Until now. I'm perimenopausal. My tsh last test was 75. My T4 was 1. Then my T4 was raised and whoosh! Back down again. Then up again. Then down again.

Gp thinks it must be linked to perimenopause (I am 48). I think she's right! I'm just up and down like a yo yo and i feel awful. They are referring me back to the endo. In the meantime i'd just like to hear anecdotals from anyone else who has been through it. It's having a knock.on effect i think. My periods are always worse when i'm hypo but these are awful: i have to wear massive pads and tampons and flood.

Any other stories welcome!

I have Hashimotos and have been hypo since June 2017.
Levo dose was always increased every 6-8 weeks despite the lingering hypo symptoms,
then 💥
June this year I felt amazing, energetic, awake! Work, kids, house, shopping & husband all getting attention!
Then my doctor told me I had to reduce the Levo as my TSH went from 6.4 to 0.09.
I was gutted, even though hyper symptoms had started to creep
Up on me. I felt like I
Could
Cope with those symptoms more than hypo symptoms.
I’ve heard going up & down a lot is common when it’s auto-immune.
I can slowly feel the hypo symptoms coming back now.
