Autoimmune disease

Chicken pox exposure

I am immunosuppressed due to autoimmune disease.

I had chicken pox as a child.

My friend has chickenpox.

I am avoiding her, she is isolating herself.

Am I likely to have lost any immunity I had?

I have googled but not found much helpful. So if anybody has had any useful professional advice I would be grateful for any information.

TIA

Don't know your details but I am also immune compromised. Had chicken pox as a child. When both my husband and daughter had chicken pox, I was the only "healthy " person in the house. Totally unaffected. Speak to your gp.

Thanks. Yes I will, but it is always a Friday night when these issues crop up.

My DH is immune suppressed due to meds and was told that if he was in contact with someone with cp for 15 minutes he needed to seek advice.

Sorry what I meant to say was yes avoid people with cp. know for my DH that is one of our biggest concerns.

Immunosuppressed here (auto immune disease too) and had my antibodies checked before getting pregnant. Despite having chicken pox as a child I have quite low immunity to it now. They can give you injections of antibodies if you've been exposed and have low immunity so I'd check in with whoever you have as a contact in your consultants team (we have a rheumatology nurse specialist at the hospital we can contact about stuff like this and they can escalate to the consultant if needed). Fingers crossed you'll be fine.

Thank you.
I am due to have some immunoglobulin infusions soon and start Azathioprin (sp). Friend is better now but I am starting to get anxious about crowded places. I spent 3 hours in the fracture clinic last week and 3 hours in the walk in centre. You just don't know what illnesses people have got. It is difficult. I have to spend so much time in waiting rooms.

The hospital keeps cancelling my rheumatology appointment. I am currently managed by my neurologist but need rheumatology input. 2 out of every 3 appointments get cancelled due to no doctors.
