Hi all
Just wondered if anyone gets this and if so is there a pattern or do you know why. I've been diagnosed for 3 years tsh currently good at around 0.3 it fluctuates quite a bit and anything over 1 and I'm very symptomatic. However I still really suffer with stiff arms and fingers almost like the feeling of pins and needles without the tingling feeling. It's usually when I wake up in the night and carries on until around an hour after I get up. I've seen a rheumatologist and they've ruled out anything from that side but keeping an eye on me. I supplement b12, vit d and iron as this is always low. Not really expecting anything to change but just wondered if anyone else suffers with it?

I have hypothyroidism and a thyroid nodule, and have suffered bouts of this, but haven't yet proved it's related. Am about to go for detailed testing to find out if the thyroid issue could be causing it. My numbness/tingling/dead arm wakes me up but not every night. TSH is around 0.9 though I'm not entirely sure what that means or how normal it is. What did the rheumatologist say?

Hi thanks for replying mascarpone the rheumatologist just tested me for various arthritis related things and after 3 appointments, bloods, X-rays, and ultrasound declared it was an autoimmune thyroid issue this spanned 18 months and I do feel she was very thorough. My GP seems to think it's related to my autoimmune and when I don't get enough sleep. If I don't get enough sleep or I have a flare up it's terrible and It is much worse in days 20-26 of my cycle. I'm at a loss tone honest!

I have Hashi's. Have you been investigated for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome? It is linked to Hashi's.

I have Hashimoto. I've had it for 28 years. I had this symptom, along with carpel tunnel type symptoms, during a period of 2 years when I took myself off my thyroxine tablets mistakenly thinking I no longer needed them.
Eventually I restarted my tablets and these symptoms disappeared. I would suggest a referral to endocrine doctor at the hospital to carefully look at your dosage and to see if it's correct. In my experience the gp is not the best person to examine carefully if your dosage is perfect for you. Good luck

I have carpel tunnel and it sounds v similar
I found alcohol made it much worse so gave up the glass of red at night
But the biggest turning point was getting wrist splints with the metal rod in to keep your wrist in the right position
They are the only thing that worked and i wore them at night every night and it meant i could get proper sleep at last
It may take a few nights to get relief so may need to persist.
