Hi, apologies for what may become a long post!
I am currently under investigation for a number of things and have been newly diagnosed within the past 3-6 months with hypothyroidism and coeliac disease.
I have chronic asthma and have been seeing a respiratory consultant for 6-8 months as I'm producing a lot of mucus which the ENT specialist has said is post nasal drip due to a new allergy to trees!
When I saw the ENT specialist last week she cauterised my nose and noticed that I have a cyst on my vocal cords and need to go in to have that sorted....
My GP last Friday saw that my thyroid levels aren't reacting as they should (possible conversion issue) and so is referring me to the endocrinologist...
With me?
Okay, for the last two days I have also now had a really sore mouth, or rather teeth and gums on the lower right jaw and I know that one of my teeth above it has a hole that needs sorting and about 3-4 weeks ago one of my teeth on the other side feels like it's crumbling.... I'm only 44 and I try and look after my teeth so am not sure if this is a side effect of my conditions and meds.
The problem I have is that 1) I am frightened of anyone messing around in my mouth and worry I'll have an asthma attack through the anxiety so would rather be totally knocked out, 2) II really feel like I'm falling apart with all these issues and this just depresses me further and 3) I simply can't afford to go to the dentist!
Shoud I try and ignore the tooth issue and hope it goes away? Perhaps when all my other issues are under control it may be fine?
Is this a common problem? Could my many meds be to blame?
Alternatively, does anyone know any way of getting free dental treatment where I could be heavily sedated etc near Oxford (UK)?
