Products to use in laundry /on household objects to help eliminate scabies

Hi, I’m always seeing products recommended on Reddit to add to laundry and to spray on fabrics with, but they are usually only available in America.
Has anyone had experience of decontaminating their home of scabies successfully and can recommend products available in Australia.

It’s been 5 months for me, looking to change my treatment plan for the home environment, getting advice on treatment for skin from medics.

Any other glimmers of hope or advice for chronic scabies always gratefully received.

Hot wash everything at 60 or over on a long was and tumble dry on a hot heat. The mite doesn't tend to live in bedclothes just on skin so you're just getting rid of malingerers. Vacuum everything in and around the bed and floor. Double bag the vacuum debris and dispose in the outside bin.

If it's scabies, it takes a while for the skin to heal. Sometimes it needs two treatments. I treated my son who caught them from school, I treated myself as well just in case.

@PrincessofWellsthank you. I’m in my 5th month of problems, but I’ve heard they do live in bedding.
Glad your son has recovered and you were ok, they are so hard to get rid of for some people.

They don’t live in bedding for more than a few days. Washing isn’t necessary - you can bag up sheets, towels, underwear every day and leave for a few days and then use again. It’s about breaking the cycle of them coming back from textiles to skin.

Thank you, must admit wash all clothing and towels daily on 60c (well mine) and only change beds once a week.

It’s important to treat everyone in the house on the same day with invermectin AND start the rigorous bedding / clothes bagged up process that day. Should be OK in 5 days - but have to be very strict each day with the clothes.
