I can't bear to part with them but they're fairly useless as they are even though they're in good condition. Any ideas? All could come up with so far is a rag rug...

  • cushion covers (after you've dyed them, if necessary)
  • dolls' clothes
  • sails for home-made wooden boats
  • lavender bags as presents for female relatives
  • graffiti canvases for teenage children
  • ghost costumes for Hallowe'en

Recently recycled 2 as a Victorian pinny for a year 5 production of Great Expectations

put them in a box in the loft or somewhere for about 15 years, by which time you'll have forgotten why you kept them & can happily freecycle/ebay/make dusters out of them

Great ideas, thanks and @ ponders...DH would chuck me and them out

Love the idea of lavender bags. Where can you get dried lavender/pot pouri these days??? I used to make stuff like that all the time.

with the flannel ones i have just made a patchwork blanket with mine.

I cut them into strips about 2.5/3 inches wide. Sewed the strips together then cut them & sewed them together again.

Try googling "jelly roll quilt" as you can buy strips of fabric pre-cut which are called jelly rolls and there are hundreds of simple quilts you can make from them.

I also sewed two cotton sheets together to make a perfect sized cot-bed duvet cover. I then added some ribbon to close it at the bottom.

If you have little DDs you could make a "pillowcase" dress - you dont need an actual pillowcase, just a pillowcase size piece of fabric, Again if you google there will be lots of patterns.

my bridesmaid bought a load of dried lavender online for my wedding, we used it as confetti.... not sure where from but worth a google

are they the elasticated sort, you know, fitted ones?

We have several which make ACE towels for bathtime, they wrap themselves right up in them and pretend to be baby moths

The little crib sheets are brilliant hair turbans. Much more absorbent and less bulky than a proper towel.

you will need them soon enough for all the school plays, productions, aztec days etc etc.

If you have a dd then convert them to toy cot size, she's bound to have dolls in need of cot sheets
