Dear Crafty MNers, hope you don't mind me visiting from a far away land called SN!!
Maybe you already know about this event, it is at Alexandra Palace, 13-16 October. My son's special school (www.treehouse.org.uk) has been chosen as the show's beneficiary charity. They don't get part of the proceeds or takings but, if you can purchase tickets via his school, they will get a percentage that way. Contact Caroline Brookes on 020 8815 5433 or [email protected].
Don't say you heard about it from Davros (!) but if you say from Dee I will tell her those people are from me iyswim.
I know it is school holiday at the moment but I think some of the Fundraising team are still working.
They will also be giving out information about the school, selling raffle tickets etc and I may be one of the volunteers on the day myself so hope to see some of you there!
I will bump this anyway from time to time.

LadyMarinaofSarfLondon · 05/10/2005 16:14

That's Lady Marina to you Fio! Yes, am still on for this. Am aiming to get there around 2pm. Time of departure will depend on me seeing if I can persuade dh to do the school/nursery pickup that day. Will confirm properly tomorrow.

LadyFioOfTipton · 05/10/2005 16:20

Envy Envy Envy

motherpeculiar · 05/10/2005 16:30

ladyfio - we can both just wander around vaguely scrutinising everyone we see there for signs of MN addiction then

alternatively we could all wear fedoras, pink carnations (a bit passe I know) and carry rolled up knitting patterns under our arms

joking aside - I'll be the harassed looking woman with the 6month old in a buggy. covered in puke. (me, not her. no hold on, probably both of us if we are not meeting til 2)

Davros · 09/10/2005 19:58

Hi Folks, have been having internet problems, boo hoo. I am going on Friday but I will be leaving around 2pm!! Anyone getting there any earlier? I will be the helpful, round faced lady handing out leaflets etc about TreeHouse (don't forget to get your tickets via them or else! see first 2 posts). Anyone getting there earlier? I'll be there about 11am. Happy to swap email/mobile info but I don't have CAT on at the mo. Can switch it on if needed.

Dingle · 10/10/2005 09:52

Only just seen this!! Would absolutely love to have come but we have Amelia's OT session on Friday afternoons ATM!
Have a great time, don't spend too much grin] and help raise lots of money!

....goes off sulking......

LadyFioOfTipton · 10/10/2005 12:32

davros i texted you this morning, if not i have texted some other person and rattled on. i am the only person who can waffle by text I think!

i have just rang the school and they are sending me the slip so i can get the ticket at the door and so that treehouse gets the benefit

Davros · 10/10/2005 19:18

Hi Fio, yes I got it, longest one on record Have just been told I don't need to volunteer so I'll go anyway. Would get there about 11am. What do you think? Could meet you off the tube somewhere convenient. I'll get back to you off this thread....

OP posts:
motherpeculiar · 12/10/2005 11:13

davros - they are not taking advance bookings anymore (couldn't book before as I have only just arranged sitter for DD1) - it says if I pay on the door half the money will go to treehouse but I needa form. CAn't find the form on the treehouse site. Will it work if I ust turn up - will they have forms at the door?

I should get there by about12.30 - 1ish

is it easy to get there from the train station with a buggy? am I mad to even think about going with a buggy?

Davros · 13/10/2005 09:54

motherpeculiar, have just CAT you so can make sure you have my mobile and make sure you get a form at the door. I think it will be OK, there should be a TreeHouse person lurking about in a green t-shirt. Which station are you coming to?

OP posts:
Davros · 13/10/2005 16:50

Hi all, looking forward to meeting some of you tomorrow. The TreeHouse stand is P41 so you might find me there as I AM being a volunteer (get in free heh heh) but if they send me off with a bucket I'll leave my mobile number there. I expect to be there from 11am to 2pm and hope to be able to stop for a graze and some tea during that time.
Marina, Fio isn't coming. Its her DS's birthday this weekend and they're going to do something with him. Have to say, I would hesitate at getting from Victoria to Ally Pally and I'm a hardened Londoner!
See you all tomorrow.

OP posts:
motherpeculiar · 14/10/2005 09:09

Marina- not sure if you are still planning to come along but have cat'd you my number in case you are

Marina · 14/10/2005 10:39

I'm bowing out too, thanks to the tube disruption. The extra time I'd need to get home means I'd only be at AP for about an hour
Really sorry - have replied to you motherpeculiar.
hope you all have a nice time and that lots of money is raised for ds' school davros
