Sewing question - bias

I'm making a tiered skirt from needle-cord and, to stop it fraying, I'm cutting it on the bias. I need to know if I ought to sew it on the bias as well when joining two pieces ie. at an angle rather than straight up and down.

(as in, I've got lots of 15cm wide strips and need to join some bits together to make them longer).

depends on what bit you are joining really. side seems cannot be anything other than straight up and down.

i think in the end it would be down to how it looked when finished, joining along the line of the cord might look less obvious.

No, you don't have to sew the strips on the bias as well for this project IMO.

You would usually join bias strips at an angle when you are using for bias binding as the angled join helps the binding curve.

Just for the purposes of joining strips from which to fashion a skirt, it doesn't matter how you join so I would say go for whichever is the least obvious

Bear in mind that needlecord has a pile so make sure your the pile of all your strips runs the same way before joining.
