I am still plodding on with my quilt. It was all going well until one of my seams split badly whilst I was attempting to quilt.

I have undone my dodgy quilting and turned it all inside out. What I need to know is, do you think that is it possible to remove a row from a block and replace it? I don't think hand stitching it going to work as the fabric has frayed too much

If not I'm going to plaster the whole thing in applique

I've used the applique trick before and it's a doozy - go for it!

you could try ironing bondaweb onto the frayed edge to strenthen it before sewing it up again?

Thanks for your reply. I took it to a quilting shop in the end and asked for advice!

I have now stitched the split seam by hand (not tidy) and am preparing some applique. I might get away with it .

I want to place some wadding under the applique, not sure on the best way to do it. Should I applique or quilt first? Lady in shop recommended quilting the applique too.
