Help, how do I "serge" a neck facing?

What does it even mean? I am quite new to sewing so any help/ advice appreciated

Hi, it's not a term I've seen before, but I've tried googling it and it seems to mean using a zigzag or overlocking stitch to protect the raw edge of your fabric. HTH!

A 'Serger' is another name for an overlocker. So I'd assume it means finish the edge of the fabric to stop it fraying.
