Oh no!! What have I done!!!

Not another excuse for more craft goodies! OOoh, can't wait, can't wait, can't wait! I want to get the kiddies involved in some paper making tomorrow, that's if I get the chance! I have tons of paper stashed away for "recycling!!"
I do need a few different colours of serviettes or something thoough, but I know I have loads of red and green, great for pink sparkly flowers and green leaves!!

champs · 23/04/2005 22:43

LOL yorkie, you sound like me before i got one. i really was a whinny wasn't I!!

dingle -- is making your own paper difficult?

try and see if they will throw in a die or two or maybe the convertor pack with it for a good price. seeing as it a market you may be able to barter.

Dingle · 23/04/2005 22:49

No not difficult, but TBH I have only made one batch, with very makeshift equipment.

The results weren't very professional, quite thick and textured, perfect for sizzix I hope. It is a bit messy and time consuming, but quite fun, I can imagine every batch would turn out slightly different.

Definately something I'd like to do more of though. DH and me were discussing about putting a playhouse/summer house at the top of the garden, but we may need to move one of the borders. He was standing there talking paving slabs and shed bases while I was thinking,,oohh, we'll have to cut that lavender right back, I'll have to get going with my papermaking!!

champs · 23/04/2005 22:54

lol!! would you add some to your paper? may be nice i've seen some h/m paper with flower petals in.

Yes{grin] don't know whether you'd have to dry it first though!! I have been saving up odds of metallic embroidery threads, off cuts of mulberry paper...all sorts. If I don't use it all soon, DH will end up taking it all to the tip!

champs · 23/04/2005 23:45

yorkie -- sorry meant card swaps.

dingle -- oh metalic bits sound nice. you clever thing you!! have you thought of doing it large scale to sell?

SoupDragon · 24/04/2005 10:18

One day I'll dig out my paper making stuff again... I could spend my whole life crafting. I'm a serial crafter - unable to settle on just one thing!

cheekychops03 · 24/04/2005 13:35

Champs - unfortuntely, I have already been sucked in!!!

lol soupdragon, know what you mean!
rofl@cheekychops, tried to save you too

Dingle · 25/04/2005 19:39

Must spend tonight catching up with a few things, that way when my sizzix machine comes, I can play away until my little heart's content!!! It should, hopefully, arrive tomorrow. I have an appointment for dd in the afternoon, I'll have to not ask too many questions and push her out the door quickly!!!

champs · 25/04/2005 19:55

pmsl, dingle... are you gonna leave before or after doc says hello
btw,i cant believe there's someone other than me who buys stuff for an item they dont yet own!!

Dingle · 25/04/2005 20:00

Well I have a good argument for that! I had a £5 off voucher from Hobbycraft, but the sizzix machines were £69.95 there. So I persuaded DH that it made sense to buy a few dies and use the money off coupon, and then buy the sizzix online for less!!

Dingle · 25/04/2005 20:02

Oh BTW Champs, it's a home visit from the learning disability team!!! I have to remember not to offer her a cup of tea!!!

champs · 25/04/2005 23:13

LOL!! crafty in both ways heeee heee i am sitting on my hands to stop ordering dies!!

switch all lights, tv and radio of and pretend your out.... or if she catches you out and you let her in......
tell her you have no mlik.... give her the uncomfortable chair..... eat a clove of garlic or a tuna sandwich....she'll be gone in no time

Dingle · 26/04/2005 07:19

You'll obviously done this before champs!!!

champs · 26/04/2005 13:07

me? never

Dingle · 26/04/2005 14:21

It's here, turned up this morning. I've cut some hammer and nails, some keys, bitty bodies, PJs and teddy bears and some love hearts...so far!!!!

Jayzmummy · 26/04/2005 15:12

Dingle its so addictive...be careful!!!!
I bought three new dies yesterday....a Snow man...Christmas Stocking and Holly Leaves....and I have already started making up my Christmas card designs.....arghhhhh Christmas and we havent even had the summer yet!!!!
