Hey Insy, how are you keeping? I was hoping to come across you somewhere my sis has finally confirmed that she has your book and it is on its way to me, I am so embarassed not to let you know that before now but she is useless will get it back to you soon as I can

How about decorating a basket, wicker or plastic with the tissue paper flowers and making gingerbread men/women and decorating them as Grandma to go inside or do handprint biscuits to go inside?

A big bar of chocolate and a DVD with a promise to keep away for 2 hours.

hello MrsMcJ! been meaning to come on AN thread and say hi but it moves faster than I can keep up with! Glad you got book, I'd assumed it was lost in post somewhere, no rush, hope it helps, thanks for ideas, been out this eve to get diy bits n bobs and no daff bulbs about or similar (because its completely wrong time of yr to plant them outside.... but not inside so ashame they don't have any) ds1 obsessed with gingerbread men since granny bought him the story book (he insists on shutting all the doors so the man can't run away!) so made them alot recently but handprint biscuits with ds2 could be fun...

wotzy - thats my idea of a mums day pressie but our parents want to come over for sunday lunch

any other ideas?

We'd love to see you on the AN thread everyone is fine, poor Juicy is having some scary pain and Lauraloo (name changed but can't remember what from ) is having lots of pins and needles and aches and pains. Other than that it is generally just chat

www.kidscraftweekly.com has some lovely ideas.

Just had their weekly newsletter e-mailed with make your own glitter paint and chocolate playdough.

You need to scroll through all the previous weeks newsletters and themes for gift ideas, I think there are a few.

Try local charity shops for picture frames. These will help present paintings as original works of art - which they are - esp if you like your art modern, naive and kind of abstract! We did this for grandparents for Christmas and it was a hit.

What about salt dough? I make it with the boys (6 & 2)on rainy days, it takes a couple days to dry, or you can dry it out in a warm oven if it's not too thick. Then they can paint it! Might be worth doing a batch of it and flattening it out for them, then they can imprint with their hands. Let dry, and they can paint it too!
It's dh's birthday tomorrow, and they've make him some trinkets over the weekend!

navymummy - I like that idea, how do you make salt dough?

bluechampagne - ds1 just started to do faces so might see if he is in mood one day to do potrait of granny, she'd love that
