OK, I'm hooked!

After 30 years of knitting, I have today taught myself to crochet.

Always said I couldn't do it, but yesterday I bought a magazine with some free wool, and am crocheting a weird little amigurumi - it's easier to crochet it then it is to spell it!!

It grows so fast (oo-er missus!).

So, what can I plan for my next crochet project?

All suggestions gratefully received.

Tia.

A craft site might be able to help you more. Try Crafter...oo, they are very friendly. There are several arguimini amigurimi
ammigurumi whatever makers there!

join ravelry, there's a MN group and lots of free patterns!

twoluvlykids · 15/02/2009 12:36

Thank you both! Dior, do you mean "Craftster"?

I'm looking at that.

purplemonkey - I've already joined Ravelry (and it scares me a bit!)

i am actually in the middle of crocheting a blanket for my gd,s bed.I love it as it grows so quickly. Then i have to make another one for my other gd.And it is so easy.

mummylin2495 · 15/02/2009 12:55

the only thing you have to remember is to do 6 chains on each corner ,and three chains in the rest of the stitches.

twoluvlykids · 15/02/2009 12:55

I've signed up for Crafter...oo, which took a bit of finding!

Thanks!

The thing-y head's looking ok-ish!!

lol
yeah i'm still pretty much in awe of it. i pop in every once in a while to check out the mumsknitters.

I know what you mean, I just learnt to crochet a couple of weeks ago and I am loving it! I am using a book called First Crochet by Lesley Standfield, it's pretty good. I have made 2 projects out of it, but I'm going to move on to the amigurumi soon too!

I've just joined ravelry and I am a bit scared of it too!

Dragonfly74 · 15/02/2009 13:18

There's just something so therapeutic about crocheting, Admittedly I can't make anything other than blankets but at least we'll always have something to snuggle under.

I would love to learn how to make other things but it looks so complicated!!

purplemonkeydishwasher · 15/02/2009 14:01

once you learn how to do circles then you can do hats. and scarves are just long narrow blankets!

i just love that i can put it down at any moments without fear of losing anything.

twoluvlykids · 15/02/2009 15:06

Well, I'm half way through the body now! The head's finished, and stuffed, and hasn't unravelled (yet)!

What magazine did you get btw?

twoluvlykids · 16/02/2009 12:01

It's March edition of "Let's Knit"

Mostly grim, but i'm a sucker for a free gift.

The anmi-thing-y is finished and I like it!!

I'll try to get a picture on my profile - you can all use it to scare the kiddies into behaving at half term, otherwise it'll come and get them!

Have you go a piccy then? I'm going to get DH to take a picture of my teddy project and I will put that up.

Ami's are so cute! I have just started playing with them.
Am now doing a hooded poncho for a friends toddler, and an ami aquarium with fish, frogs and jellyfish!

Have you found Lion Brand website? loads of free patterns on there
