Anyone recommend a good scrapbooking supplier? I'll be staying in Wimbledon, but going into town too. Just need general stuff like shape cutters but would like a mooch around an a&c emporium Is there a good one easy to get to by pub trans?

If you don't find one... what about ebay?

EmmalinaC · 29/01/2009 19:56

Am not a scrapbooker myself and not sure whether this could be considered an emporium but this one is in Carshalton which is about 6 miles from Wimbledon.

Oh, hello Ernest, long time no see! When are you staying in Wimbledon? That's my neck of the woods when I'm in the big smoke.

There is indeed a fabulous place you can get to easily.
You need to get to Tooting Bec tube station. You can do this easily by bus, or on the underground depending on where in Wimbers you're staying.
Out of the station, just further down than Halfords and opposite Lidl and Kwik Fit (this is a classy area, can't you tell?) is the Wimbledon Sewing Machine Centre and Craft Superstore. Here is their crappy website.

thanks everyone EC - the Carshalton one is perfect, as I am going to Wimbledon in order to explore Carshalton, as we're thinking of moving there, so it's also a bit weird that that's come up

Essie, hia, how's Iestyn? Cannot believe 7 months have gone by, can you? Thanks for the Tooting suggestion I used to work there, so I know (too well) what it's like I'm coming over with just dd next Saturday for a weekend of checking out places for when we move back to UK. Sil lives in Wimbledon & we're thinking of Sutton area.

No warning about the scary new mumsnet look was there?

My sister is into scrapbooking in a serious way. She runs classes and crops she has an ebay shop and an online one its Sarah's Cards Ltd. She got all the creativity genes in our family.

She does a monthly subscription kit I can't remember how much it is but I'm sure it'll all be on the link.

She runs this phenomonally successful business and has 20month angelic twins at home!

EmmalinaC · 30/01/2009 20:30

Hope you like Carshalton Ernest - we moved here about 18 months ago and we love it!

Essie3 · 30/01/2009 21:52

Hahaha, Tooting and its quirks. Where on earth did you work in Tooting? Were you a takeaway delivery person? Nowt else in our area!

But seriously, move to Tooting. It still isn't up-and-coming yet. May never be!

How is Adele (my favourite of the girls' names)? She was later than Iestyn, is that right? He's doing fine, still teensy though!

ErnestTheBavarian · 31/01/2009 21:34

ohh, really ec - tell me more! Dunno how, out of the whole if sw england we've landed on Carshalton, but it seems to keep cropping up - I've never even been there.

Essie, my tooting doings are top secret. Adele is, thank goodness, and angel, much adored by her 3 big brothers. Not into eating or anything much yet tho - no sitting or anything. Just cute giggling and jowl grabbing mainly Glad Iestyn's doing well.

If you're in Central London, there's the excellent Blade Rubber Stamps which is down one of those little streets that are at 90 degrees from the front of the British Museum (sorry, am on someone else's machine and haven't got time to google it!). They sell stamping stuff and lots of scrapbooking things too.
