Where can I get a basic collage kit for 3yo and 5yo DDs?

ELC used to do a good one but I can no longer find it online. In fact I can't find any of the fab little packs of jewels and stuff that they used to do.

The only one on ebay at the moment is for older kids.

Looking for pompoms, feathers, card, beads/jewels, glitter etc - don't mind buying some of these separately (I know Baker Ross are good) but a kit would be handier.

Tesco have all sorts of kits and bits and bobs good price, Poundland have a suprising selection of crafty bits including kids scrap book stuff, OK nothing great quality but ideal for a 3 and 5 yr old.

franch · 23/12/2008 07:23

Thanks skrimbo - our local Tescos are a bit rubbish and have nothing useful - and we don't have a Poundland, annoyingly!

Wilkinsons is fab for this kind of thing IMO. DD is getting a box of collage stuff this year from DS and I think it cost about £4.

franch · 23/12/2008 14:17

Thanks SS - no wilkinsons round here either! Grr

Hobbycraft www.hobbycraft.co.uk/ did a good one last time I looked. Poundstretcher too.

ScroogeMacDog · 24/12/2008 12:25

have you got 'The Works' near you? They do loads of really cheap arty bits and bobs

franch · 24/12/2008 17:30

No Poundstretcher or Works here! Believe it or not I do live in London, not on another planet ... Thanks tho macdog and justagirl.

Can't find anything on hobbycraft - there's a Christmas one but no regular kits.

Until you find something you could do what I've been doing and chop up old xmas cards (often glittery) and wrapping paper and argos catalogues (brightly coloured toys section)

Pour a large cup of tea, stick the tv on and get chopping

franch · 24/12/2008 22:17

Oh you are good tango

I would agree about The Works, but agree also with Tango - you are probably surrounded by good collage bits. Christmas cards, gift tags and wrapping paper are great and cards made from this would be great thank you cards for grannies etc.

Keep a cardboard box somewhere and use it from now on to collect good collage bits - cards, bits of shiny paper, sweet wrappers, free catalogues, chocolate Euro wrappers, feathers or dead leaves you find on walks.... Dc can join in with this and once you get your eye in, the possibilities are endless. Collecting for the collage can be an activity as well as the collage itself.

Ooh you lot are so creative - I'll do my best
