Making loose covers - how exactly!

I have got a nice sofa which needs cleaning and therefore looks a bit scummy.

I wondered about making some covers for it, but don't know where to start. Is there a simple way to do it?

Hi!

I used to sew a lot but have never learnt proper techniques. I think I could do the things you mention, just not sure where to start or how much fabric I'd need.

It is a bit of a complicated one though as the back is curved, not even symmetrical , so a throw might be wiser

Thanks for answering btw.

Oh golly. no I ahve an old singer. I think it might break at the very idea actually

I like the weird stuffed toy analogy! Thankyou for your encouragement. I am going to look up some instructions online and see if I can rope my mother in as well. She used to cover sofas in her 'youth' as she puts it.

I remember them but nevertheless she might be able to hold the pins or something

Oh maybe...not sure as it is soooo old! I would be scared to use feet.

Your light plastic machine sounds very nice and easy to use. I used an electric one once and it tried to kill me.
