How much would I expect to pay for a length of fabric? Quick answer needed

I need to make a roman costume for my DTDs.

I am trying to work out whether it will be cheaper to buy lengths of fabric from the market or a couple of cheap sheets from tesco. I know how much Tesco sheets are - how much would I expect to pay for fabric (plain wite/cream cotton or calico) from the market?

£1.99-2.99 per metre for sheeting

Sheeting can be wider.

And I assume that i will get that on a typical Saturday Market stall? And that a Saturday market will be cheaper than somewhere like Dunhelm?

TY fo ryour help....I got 2 sheets in teh end for £9....would have cost me £12 on the market and the stall holder wouldn't budge on price.

Now all I have to do is get my sewing machine out.
