What to do with the huge pile of circa 1980 knitting patterns? Any ideas

MIL has been clearing out and has presented me with a huge pile of knitting patterns- a lot of baby and children and a few adult. They arent modern - but some stuff would be ok. I havent time to knit at the moment and my DDs are too big for the baby stuff.
So what do I do with the patterns?

There is also a baby blanket in white which needs the edge finishing and sewing on - If anyone is interested!

Go through them, pick out the patterns you want and file them in a lever-arch folder or similar (in plastic wallets to keep them nice) and pass the rest on. Or if you are technically-minded, scan them into word and save on your pc.

I think knitting patterns are quite expensive to buy nows so don't bin any unless they are really past it .

Put them on ebay! Check if the copyright has expired and if so, you can sell copies. I recently bought a pattern for a tea cosy () from someone, it was a 20's pattern and she sent me a (very good) photocopy for 99p.

Kitbit - how do I check if the copyright has expired?

hmm. Knew you would ask me that!! It might be printed on the back? Sorry, really unhelpful aren't I!!!

I found this here - so depending on the age of the patterns, they might still be in copyright.

You could lend the patterns though.
