Need to source some bits and bobs for Christmas cards and birth announcements, anyone know any suppliers local to Brighton? Failing that, who is reliable on the net in terms of choice, service etc? Thanks x

this could be the year to buy them, no?!

(hey girl, hope you're doing ok.)

Twiga · 10/10/2008 14:02

Hi there you! I've actually got most of the bits I need to get started but having moved away our card list is longer than ever so need to get more! Hoping to actually manage to do the making but hey the buying is always fun . Keeping ok, now up to physio once a week but is really helping and is keeping me off crutches so can't complain. Feel massive and can't wait for this bay to come, not least because we don't know what we're having this time and the suspence is killing me - want to know if I'm right .

Glad you're doing ok. talk soon. You not fancy getting yourself on facebook?!

Twiga · 10/10/2008 14:08

Actually that's a thread title to add for later (just heading out to meet a mum from church) - an idoits guide to facebook - planning to try and set up before wee one arrives as most of dh's family will be in Singapore for his brother's wedding over that time. Any tips?

just log in and start, even i (total technophobe) managed it on my own! having said that I've not managed to get any pics on my page as I'd need C to help me with that and on the rare occasions we're in the house at the same time I really don't want to be facebooking!

bumping for twiga

There's a great craft shop in Lewes. Sells all sorts of bits & bobs. Can't remember what it's called, but it's halfway up Station Street. Near the station, funnily enough.

Twiga · 10/10/2008 20:13

Oh that sounds good and not too far, thanks! Someone on the local thread also mentioned hobbycraft at crawely - not familiar with area as just moved from Scotland but assume Lewes would be closer to get to?

Oh and thanks for the bump tassissssss

Hello Twiga

The Hobbycraft in Crawley is massive and about a 20-25 minute drive away.
Happy to go with you one day if you like!

Otherwise you can buy online from Ebay Shops, or DoCrafts, Hobbycraft or The Range

harpomarx · 10/10/2008 20:16

this place is fab - ring before visiting though, it's a very small operation so make sure they're open before you visit.

Twiga Hobbycraft in Crawley is fairly easy to find from the A23/M23. Would (like ShinyPinkShoes quite happily meet you there) There is also a smaller one at Haskins Garden Centre in Copthorne here which means you can buy, and then go and have a coffee at the cafe afterwards!!

Twiga · 10/10/2008 21:16

Thanks all, spoilt for choice now . Harpomarx, they look fab and have some stuff which i reckon dd would love to have a go at - really like little independant shops like this!

Shineypinkshoes and hedgehog, thanks for the offer to come with/meet up - that would be realy nice. Afternoons are best for me purely coz of time preasure to pick up dd from pre-school sessions. Wander if would be best to head to the one with coffee shop - always feel less guilty about dragging dcs with if i can bribe with coffee and cake which for dd at age 3 is just the pinacle of being grown-up when shopping with mummy - ds just likes his grub! If just wanting to do a grown up trip out dh has some time off last week oct/first week Nov - he would likewise be grateful for your offer to go with as it would spare him the ordeal!!! Shineypinkshoes, I'll come get you if you don't mind being driven by a slightly manic pg lady with hormones that can mean driving slightly iffy at times - or so dh says . If can't manage to co-ordinate all 3 of us, am quite happy to do a couple of trips - any excuse to broswe crafty type places and have some sane adult chat. Let me know what suits .

Hedgehog just realised glancing at your profile that we must have bumped into eachother on here before - ds is a june 08 baby too, although only managed to post occ on ante-natal thread. Not been great at keeping up with post-natal thread as moved to Edinburgh from Aberdeen when he was 7/8 wks old so life was a bit mad, and had pnd for a while after so figured i wouldn't be the best at new baby chat - really should post and say hi sometime.

hedgehog - ignore my last post, ds is a june 07 baby - can but plead mushy pg brain and tiredness , what a numpty! Would be some feat to have a june 08 baby and be due in Dec - I'm sane really, honest! Right think better go to bed before i embarrass myself further on here tonight - bad enough that my sp has gone to pot.
