Temporary hem for heavy weight curtains

Any recommendations please. I have researched and there is double sided heavy duty tape that needs no ironing which seems ideal. However it will need to come off in a year’s time and I worry about damage to the hem, although it will be on the back I suppose. Thank you

Why do you need a temporary hem? Why not sew it?

Because position of curtain rail can change in one year. Can not drill wall in new build for a year so curtail pole in a temporary solution within frame.

I'd just hem them by hand and undo it later, or possibly just leave them too long for a while.

I would probably hand-sew with large stitches in that situation. It won't take too long and will be easy to remove.

I made some heavy duty floor length curtains and for reasons lost in the midst of time I temporarily pinned them.

The pins are still there.

Sew it. It is very easy to remove stitches with a seam ripper, but you have no guarantees the glue will come off cleanly.
