Hi, I am going to try and teach myself crochet (I can knit) and maybe do a jigsaw but I need things that don’t require getting up/moving about too much please?
Looking at adult Lego Botanicals range, do these take hours to do as I don’t want to spend out and it’s done in an hour!
Thanks

I like diamond art. Variety of pictures and sizes available or you can do key rings, coasters etc

Try the Usborne magic painting boooks - you only need a pot of water (& it doesn't need changing as much as when you're using real paints) & they come with quite a good brush attached. They're like the magic painting books we had as kids, but much better. They might while away an hour or two.

I just looked & if you google your question about the Lego, there are lots of people talking about their experiences & how long it takes.

Colouring books
How about a book that has a different drawing to copy each day or a learn to draw animals?
Puzzle books
When I was incapacitated I knitted myself a coat!
Wish you better.

I'm obsessed with diamond art- my favourite are the canvas ones from Craft Buddy but you can get cheapies from Temu I expect - that and an audiobook is my happy place. The canvases are expensive but look fantastic.

Cross stitch? Caterpillar cross stitch and Innocent Bones are my favourite. Go with a full kit including hoop, best way to start. I've also had some fun ones from Etsy. I learnt from YouTube!

I also taught myself crochet from YouTube and in a year I'd made 6 blankets, all from Attich24. Her patterns are unmatched.

Oh and I LOVE Lego, we have tons all over our house. The bigger the set the longer it takes of course but just choose something you'd love to have on display, the botanicals are just lovely.

Thanks everyone I’ve started learning crochet and have ordered a diamond art and a Lego botanical set so far. Going to look at cross stitch too!

If you are quite crafty anyway can I recommend Rolife Book Nooks? They are models (book ends) that you build and they are amazing!

take hours but the results are incredible.

Fimo clay

Beads to make bracelets/necklaces.

Hama beads - I know they're for kids, but honestly it's so relaxing!

Paper cutting ? You can get books from Amazon and they have 3 copies of each template . The templates are divided into levels of difficulty. Very therapeutic and not expensive to start.

Cross stitch is a great idea! Lot's of other embroidery techniques, too.

Wishing you a speedy recovery of your broken foot!

I'm sorry to hear about the foot and hope its on the mend soon

-I already crochet, but do basic granny squares to make rugs which I donate to a hospice. I learnt how to make flower hair clips on youtube though. I glued the flower part onto the clip and my god daughters loved them. I also learnt a sunflower type pattern on youtube, but used pastels and gave it away as a baby rug to a relative.

-Online quiz/surveys. They don't earn much and it depends if you match they criteria, but some are interesting and earn a few £'s here and there.

-Christmas baubles? Too early? Either hand writing on them with glitter glue or another type. Last winter I was in Budapest and they had all manner of dried, fragrant fruit displays for Christmas- limes, oranges and other citrus with slits in the sides but all dried out and threaded with cinnamon sticks etc. Maybe those things are too early to think about, but might be worth looking into.
