Knitting pattern size help

Can anyone help me figure out what size I need to knit please?

Im knitting Kate Davis Argyll tank top here. https://www.shopkdd.com/sweaters-and-cardigans/argyll-argyle---mooring-club-yarn-pack

The pattern says
Select the size above your actual bust measurement with the amount of ease required. Shown in the second size with 10cm / 4in positive ease.

I dont know what that means. I want it to be somewhat fitted rather than baggy (positive ease). My bust is about 45cm (Im a size 16/18).

Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks

So I read that as the model is wearing the second size which is 90cm finished size. For her this gives 10cm of ease, which means her bust is 80cm. Is your bust 45cm or 45 inches (114cm)? I’m assuming inches
If you made the 5th size (114.5cm) it would only be half a centimetre bigger than your bust so very very fitted! The next size (120cm) would give you 6cm of ease or room to move. Have you another knitted garment you like the fit of, that could measure and compare to the pattern sizes.

Thank you

I realised I could actually ask them 🤣 They said the 5th size has enough ease. I was a good girl and did a swatch but I've almost done the waist and it's looking very small! I'm going to take it off the needles after a few inches and try it on.

I'll be gutted if I have to start again in a bigger size. It took 3 attempts to cast on 252 stitches without twisting!

To help avoid the twisting problem when knitting in the round, I tend to knit my ribbing flat, then join it for circular knitting once I get to the body. When the item is finished, sew up the few cms of ribbing.

It's very nice.

Thats a good idea! Plus it makes it easier to try on.

My joins are never very neat and this is a weird ribbing that doesnt really look like ribbing so I dont know how I'd do it but no one is going to look closely at the waistband (apart from mil!) so if I do have to redo it, Ill definitely knit it flat.

Thank you!

Glad you got it sorted. Casting on that number of stitches is a nightmare and hard on the hands. Good luck!

When I am knitting in the round, I cast on, then pin the sts to my blocking board so I can remove all the twists. If that is a problem, then, like @NannyR I would cast on leaving a 6" - 15cm tail, knit the first few rows back and forth and then join in the round afterwards. If it's a weird stitch pattern, then the first option might be better.
