Sewing patterns

Hello, I'm doing a very basic sewing course online. I've done hair accessories (bows and scrunchies), pouches, cushion with invisible zipper, tote bag with french seam .. I would like to start sewing clothes for me. Could I have blouse patterns recommendations for beginners please? Big 4 or indie pattern designers.. I don't mind! Thank you.

Tilly and the Buttons Patterns are a great starting point for sewing clothes. She has quite a few blouse patterns so just have a look for one that you like.

I personally would avoid the big 4 and an indie pattern company called style arc patterns until you are a bit more confident. big 4 because the sizing can be a bit tricky due to excess ease, and style arc because the instructions are very minimal.

Another recommendation for Tilly and the Buttons. The patterns come with an illustrated booklet of instructions. The big 4 tend to have sketchy instructions which assume you are familiar with techniques.

I don't have any advice regarding patterns, OP, but would you mind sharing which online course you took (but only if you recommend it, of course!)? I have tried sewing classes in person, but they tend to be a bit of a rush, and I was wondering about alternatives! Thank you, and I hope that you find suitable patterns 😋

I've done a couple of the Tilly and the Buttons Samara tops which have worked well - and have enough style variations that you can make them to fit the look you're going for, plus they're intentionally oversized so there's wiggle room if you screw up the cutting etc. (I sized it down cos I'm losing weight so wanted to keep it wearable for longer).

The other ones I've had work out well have been from magazine freebie patterns.
