Kid seta yarn

I’ve bought a lovely pattern for a sweater that requires 3 strands of kid seta yarn to be used at the same time. It’s a lace yarn weight. Just wondering if anyone knew how it would work using 2 strands of yarn together instead, what kind of yarn would I use for this? What weight should I look for? I might try the 3 strands of kid seta but it’s quite expensive so I was going to try the pattern in a different yarn first time just in case it goes wrong :)
thank you in advance

I sometimes use different weights of yarn for projects and have to google what is approx the equivalent.
For you, I think 3 strands of lace weight make a sport weight yarn. Where I am sport weight is called sock wool, and one of the cheaper options.
Give it a try, but it will have a different feel and drape.
Best of luck!

Thank you so much for replying. I might give that a go :) I think I’ve just accidentally bought a pattern that uses the world’s most expensive yarn! 🤣
