Interpreting knitting pattern - Beginner

Hello, I wonder if anyone could help me please. I am knitting my first garment. A VERY basic chunky jumper.

All is going well but I have reached a part of the pattern and I am confused. I attach a picture of the relevant part.

For the front, is says 'repeat this row until you have worked 8 rows less than back to shape shoulders.' (Highlighted in photo)

I can't work out if that means 8 rows less than the number of rows knitted by point 'A' or 8 rows less than the amount knitted by point 'B'.

I'm thinking 'A' but I'm not confident and really don't want to spoil my work by getting it wrong.

Thank you

Gosh that is unclear. Do you have the rest of the pattern after that point? It might clarify things if i can see what comes next.

Yes it's A. On the front you will start the neckline lower down and then knit a bit of shoulder each side

Thank you. This is the next part of the front.

Thank you. Yes it goes on to the shoulders after the neck. I tried attaching a photo but it's waiting to be approved. 'A' kind of makes sense to me but, as a beginner, I was doubting myself.

I agree it's A, but it definitely could be clearer!
