New year resolution was to start learning how to crochet & follow a pattern. I particularly like the little animals so picked up the
How to crochet pets pattern book by Kerry Lord
I’ve started with the easiest bunny pattern at the front of the book & so far I’ve made a ring of 6 stitches then Rnd 1 (double crotchet 2 into next stitch) 6 x to make 12 stitches
Rnd 2 is (dc1 then dc2 into next st) 6 x to make 18 stitches.
I’ve done that but can’t figure out the instructions for Rnd 3 (dc2,dc2 into next stitch) 6 x to make 24 stitches
but if I’m double crocheting twice into 12 stitches that will make 24 but I’ve got 18 stitches from round 2. What happens to the 6 remaining stitches? If I carry on I’ll have more than 24 stitches.
I’ve watched the video tutorials to make the bunny but Kerry stops at Round 2 so I’ve not been able to move forward. Any help please?

Have you given it ago to see how it looks? You can always frog it afterwards if it's not right. Are you maybe meant to skip a stitch between the Dc2?

You need to do 1 dc into the first 2 stitches then 2 DC in the next stitch - repeat this 6 times.

Thanks do you think Rnd 3 was a typo and should be the same as Rnd2?

No, it's just her way of writing it. The next round you will do 3 DC stitches then 2dc into the next stitch. It's a standard way of making a circle but is often written more like ' 1dc into each of the next 2 stitches then 2dc into the next stitch ' which makes it clearer when you're starting out.
