Knitting help!

I had to pull out 4 rows as got confused with my knitting pattern.
RS row 1: K2, P2 to the end.
Row 2&3: same as row 1

WS row 4: P2, K2 to the end
Row 5&6: same as row 4

Can anyone tell me which row to start on next please?
Ignore the position of the needle as I just picked up stitches quickly to avoid further loss 🙄!

Can you take another pic showing clearly the yarn end of your work?

It looks to me like you have just finished one set of 3 rows so you need to start on the opposite. If your work has the dropped loops facing you as you knit you need to start with the knit rows, if the loops are at the back you need to start with purl. Does that make any sense?

If you can see three rows of "bumps" from the purple stitches it's time to change. So yes can you show a close up of the starting point, facing as if you were about to start the next row and it should be easy

Thanks so much for getting back to me. I’ve added some close up pics.
I’m not sure if I fully understand what you’re suggesting about what to start on. I’ve added more pics so I hope this makes things clearer!

I fear I’ve dropped an extra stitch 😬

Is the wool coming from the 2nd stitch not the last one? If so turn the work back round, put that odd stitch on the other needle and purl it. the your next row should start with P2 I reckon.

LivingSlowmo · 30/12/2024 22:25

Yes, that’s exactly it. It’s coming from the second to last stitch.
Sorry but my knowledge is more basic than yours.
What do you mean by ‘turn it back around’?

I just meant turn the knitting/swap hands like at the end of a row. You just need to re-work the dropped stitch.

So for now, take the needle with all the stitches in R hand, then with the other needle in L hand, put that odd stitch onto the L needle and p it. Then start your next row and carry on as you were.

I agree, the next row is started p2, however you need to finish the last row, so that the last stitch is the one with the wool.

Have a look locally to see if you have a knit and natter group, they are huge fonts of knowledge to help and usually are somewhere where there is cake!

Thank you - this is super helpful! 🤗

I think there’s one at my library so will get involved.
