With rs facing and using 4mm (UK 8 - US 6) needles, rejoin

[39: 43: 47] sts on Right Sleeve holder, 43 [49: 55: 61] sts on
Back holder, 35 [39: 43: 47] sts on Left Sleeve holder, and then
22 [25: 28: 31] sts on Left Front holder.

Yes, you're going to join the right front, right sleeve, back, left sleeve and left front to knit a yoke.

Do you have all the required stitches for all pieces on separate stitch holders?

If you lay the pieces down in a fan shape you should be able to see how the yoke is to be constructed.

Starting with the right front, rejoin the yarn at the first stitch, and knit away!

This tutorial should show you what I mean:

It sounds like a cardigan?

so with the right front , right side facing you, knit the stitches you have on the holder, then the sleeve then back then sleeve then left front. For the first size you will have 157 stitches on your needle, this is for the neckband. You knit across these stitches as the pattern tells you. Once the pieces are together on the needle it should make sense and you will be able to see the sleeves and front and back are all in the right place.

just make sure they are all facing right side to you !

Floranan's post explains it better than I can.

Knit each piece from the stitch holders in the order specified - right front, right sleeve, back, left sleeve, left front. Then all the pieces will be on one needle.

Look at the video at 8 mins 45 seconds, you'll see how it's supposed to look.

There is no special technique. What kind of stitch holder are you using to hold your sets of stitches? If it's one of the rigid ones that look like a huge safety pin, just open it up and use it like a knitting needle, and knit the stitches off it using your normal knitting needle. If it's a scrap of yarn or something else which is soft, you will have to slip the stitches onto a needle first and then just knit them. Make sure you do it so the pointy end is at the starting point of where you will knit. (I speak from experience).

You'll eventually end up with all the stitches on the same knitting needle and you can carry on back and forth like normal.

That’s ok, we all have to learn. I assume you have the stitches on a big pin or holder ? You might find it easier to put each one on a needle before you knit.

so start with the right front, I always put on a needle, knit the 22 stitches, so your right front is now on the left needle. Put the 35 stitches for the left sleeve on to the right needle, then knit them onto the left so the last stitch on the front it now next to the first stitch on the sleeve, make sure you keep a nice tension so there’s no gap. Then put the back stitches on to the right needle and knit these onto the left needle again so the last stitch of the sleeve is next to the first one on the back. Keep going until you have all 5 pieces hanging in order from the left needle.

when you do the next row you will have the wrong side facing you knit (rib?) across all the stitches for one row off 157 stitches. You might find there is a noticeable looseness between the pieces, try to adjust your tension to avoid this, but don’t worry to much when you stitch it up it will pull into shape.

thankyou for your time and help! Appreciate it and managed to get my head around it now!
