Help with finding a knitting needle case

Hi, i wonder if any of you knowledgeable crafters might be able to help. I'm looking to get a present for aunt and she is looking a case for her knitting needles. Preferably a separate section for each needle (so not like a pencil case) and in a design to match her bag. I've checked amazon and nothing. I've no idea where to look next. Any help would be much appreciated.

Also if any other suggestions of a gift to go along with it. She sews, crochet and knits.

Have a look on Etsy for 'knitting needle case'.

Do you know how many pairs she wants to store in it? I was on the lookout for one, but gave up because most didn't have enough space for all the pairs I have. She might be happy with a pretty case for the ones she uses most often, and a 'pencil case' type for all the others (and other accessories!).

What sorts of needles does she use?

I have and use: cases for circular needles (seperate section for each needle); interchangeable needle sets in cases; traditional straight knitting needles in a case with elastics like a pencil case; and fabric rolls for sets of 5 double pointed needles.

This type is good for straight needles and something like this for circular needles.

I'm not sure how many she wants to store but I did ask which type she wanted and she didn't want the pencil case type one which I can find in the same pattern. So that's a shame

Yes the link for the straight ones is exactly what I was thinking but I don't know where I would find the similar pattern to the bag :-(

Thanks fot your replies and help. Getting two as suggested might be the way forward

My mother used to keep hers in a tough cardboard tube that was originally for shuttlecocks. It wasn't so bad because her ancient needles had mainly assorted coloured tops so you could easily pull out a pair.
I don't knit so I've used some of them as sticks for supporting houseplants. However they must be a crazy primitive plastic (probably 1930s vintage) because I discovered they go soft when they get wet. (No heat involved, just damp soil).
If anyone's a plastics expert I'd love to know what they are made of!

Thank you! Yes I think I will get that and maybe watch to see if the needle case comes back into stock over the next few weeks before Christmas. If not I might do what was suggested above, get the pencil case style which is still available and a different style of hard case.

Thanks so much everyone I appreciate it.

They could be galalith as that and celluloid were the only plastics used for knitting needles at that time. I bought some casein needles, once, and they were horrible to knit with and wouldn't have been much cop as plant stakes!

Wow! Thanks, I think you are correct. I knew you could make a type of plastic from milk, but I had no idea it was used commercially.
