Hello all

I need some help

just done my first acrylic pour and it turned out so well we are hanging it on the wall.

What do i use the seal it? I am new to this and don't know what to do! Matt finish over glossy is what I am going for.

Thanks so much

I hadn't heard of acrylic pour - can you post a picture of your painting?
There is info online about varnishing acrylic paintings.

@Scarletrunner lots of wonderful videos on YouTube showing acrylic pour art. It is very satisfying to watch it take shape.

Congratulations! I've tried to do a pour loads of times and they're always crap.

I think you can seal with a matt varnish when completely dry.

I have used water based varnish to avoid yellowing, spray varnish etc.
All worked well if you’re patient enough to let it thoroughly dry/curate first

I use a varnish on mine. Just make sure the painting is fully dry first.

Thank you

any recommendations for specific varnish? I want a matt finish I think

Also how long would you leave to fully dry? Touch dry or like 30 days dry?

@Scarletrunner I would be way too scared to put a picture up! 😬

I didn't seal and mine is fine years on.

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor oh interesting!

This is fantastic stuff if you really want to seal but my pours have been on the conservatory for years and have been absolutely fine .
