Please help me! Last night I was sewing using a Uten2200 and a tiny bolt and small piece of black wire fell off! Not sure where it came from, am guessing the presser foot area as the presser foot grabby bit will no longer grab the presser foot. I have no idea how to fix this, the machine I've had less than 6 months. Please help 🙏

Wouldn't it have at least a year's guarantee? Look at it's paperwork.

SnappyDragony · 12/01/2024 15:33

Yes!! That's it!!! Thank you so much. Yes it's still under warranty but if its an easy fix I can just get a new part. Still have the mystery screw/bolt

Why not let them repair it?

You will have invalidated the guarantee if anything else goes wrong.

Mosaic I know I should but I don't want it to takes weeks when I can just pop a new part on. Will that really invalidate the warranty if I just swap out the attachment?

It looks like the faulty piece is an entirely removable part of the machine which is designed to be removed and swapped and there are many universal fitting alternatives. The retailer might send out a new one free under warranty but is it worth the hassle when it costs £4?

NotMeNoNo · 12/01/2024 17:12

Of course it won't invalidate the warranty as long as the new shank fits, they are universal so I'm not sure you can even buy one that won't fit.

Thank you all for the sound advice. I've got a new shank arriving tomorrow 😁😁. Will try to make this one last a bit longer lol
