Piping on Coats

I'm hoping that some incredibly talented sewer can help.
I have both a jacket (quilted type a bit like a Barbour) & a wool coat, both of which are edged with fake leather piping. I don't know what's happened to them but since last winter the piping has all started to break apart.
They look so tatty but are both lovely garments and I'm not sure how, or even if, they can be salvaged.
Can anyone advise on whether they might be repairable or where to even take them (I need Suzi from The Repair Shop!) Is this something a sewer would be able to do?

It’s a long fiddly job as the seam would need to be unpicked, piping removed and then somehow the coat would need to be turned inside out to re-see the seams. Yes doable but will cost you a lot at a professional sewing place.
could you trim very closely to the seam and remove as much as possible without all of the above steps?
I do alterations cor my family but would groan at taking on unpicking all of the seams!

Thank you @Storynanny1 that's what I think needs to be done. I think the quilted one might be the easier. I've cut the tattered bit as close as I can to tidy it up but will try to look more closely.
