easter egg painting - hard boiled or blown

I want to paint some eggs for easter. Have some out of date ones - can I just hardboil them and use them? How long will they last for?

What do people normally do? I hate blowing the middles out - disgusting...

Jeeso, that's got to be the fanciest cake I've ever seen...

Wow. Lucky Mum...

My problem is I keep eating the cake and icing trimmings and end up oversugared and short of temper...

I aspire to get to this kind of level.

I am fortunate in that I don't really have a sweet tooth so not inclined to taste more than necessary. Much more of a crisps fan tbh.

I should point out that I am starting up a business rather than a ott interest in cake decorating

CoV I would be fascinated to know your business plan - I could never make it add up to more than slave wages!

Gorgeous cakes, BTW - the hardest bit is doing it with fragile / perishable cake in, I would imagine.

Any ideas for my ready-blown goose eggs?!

Still working on it. I have a friend (in another part ofthe country so no compeition), she manages between £600-£1000 a month after costs. I don't expect to become a massive sucess likesome of those in america (charging thousands of dollars a cake), but if Icould earn abit of pocketmoney doing something I enjoy it would be fab. I m currenly reading a very useful book about setting up a home cake business to get all the info on that side of things.

CoV - it's worth checking out your local business advice centre for possible grants or business advice if you haven't already.
