Has anyone got experience of using this? Total novice here but I want to make a copy of a necklace I've got in silver. It's a very simple design and I think PMC silver will work but just wanted anyone's opinion on, which one to get? Can you really fire it on the hob? Is it harder than it looks?

Hi, I remember I was using for my handmade jewellery projects Art Clay Silver. It is Japanese silver sterling product and it has some possibilities. It needs to be flamed or be in the kiln. It is so easy to work with that material but I am not sure if that is the one you have...

You can fire small pieces this way. On the hob is hard as you have poor control of the heat and it’s easy to overheat and melt. I wouldn’t recommend it.

A kitchen torch would be better. If it’s larger and thicker than a 10p coin though you really need a kiln.

It’s a medium I really like though. You can do things it’s difficult to do with standard metal working techniques.

Art Clay is a reliable brand and easy to work with.
