Don't really want to pay £4 for 12 sheets at ELC as my lot get through loads of it, have looked everywhere even Trago Mills, Bitz-nothing!!!!

What do your dc paint on????

wall lining paper is cheap and you can have as big a piece as you like then. It's strong too.

What about flipchart paper? Or is that too thin? I got some from Rymans (not yet used, DS eats crayons rather than drawing with them)

We get our from the local newsagent, costs about 2 quid for 20 sheets.

The Works.

I bought 100 sheets A3 drawing paper fo £2.99.

They have some great stuff in there. Also bought some really good amimal print A3 card, meant to be for masks but they have used it for all sorts.

another vote for lining paper - dirt cheap from from B&Q or wherever. The quality is not always great but generally I find that small people don't need high grade stuff!

rolls of paper are great, tesco and ikea do them quite cheap. we run it along the path in the garden and let the children loose with paint.

Great ideas thanks, may even have some lining paper, will try The Works as sure I've seen one down here.

Another vote for lining paper. And it's thick enough to withstand the amount of paint they ladle on.

If you have a Lidl near you, they sometimes have nice A3 drawing pads which are really cheap. They are perforated along two sides, so the paper lies nice and flat while they are painting/drawing, then you can tear it out to do the next one. And they have nice bright pictures on the front, which my two fight over

just found this the works.

I have the same problem , lining paper is good though also, I sellotape it to the whole kitchen table.

purpleflower · 03/03/2008 13:20

I got DS an A3 drawing pad in poundland. It does the job.

TurkeyLurkey · 03/03/2008 13:21

I noticed my local Woolies had a big roll of paper in the childrens paints/paper section.

One of my DC's favourite activities was lying down on a long strip of paper (several small ones taped together if you don't go for a roll), I'd draw round them and then it takes HOURS to paint in the face/hair/clothes etc. Scope for sticking too. Shame they're too old for that now, it used to be a great way of spending the afternoon!!
