Does anyone do this?

Im tentatively looking to start doing this. Im a hand knitter and crocheter but find it’s taking way too long and I’m not getting what I want out of it.

id be looking to make things like hats and jumper and cardigans.

is this even possible. I wouldn’t make toys as they have to ukca tested and what not and that is way too much hassle.

can anyone offer any advice?

Didn't want to read and run.
My DMiL used to make jumpers and. Cardigans on her knitting machine but that was about it. I'm not a knitter so didn't take much notice. Sorry I can't be more help.

I used to have a chunky knitting machine for Dk and chunky yarn.

Its fast when doing straight rows, but any casting on, casting off, increasing and decreasing stitches has to be done individually on the needles. It feels like a faff and is slow. But I’m a crocheted not a knitter, so it may just be that compared to crochet it seems slow.

There are two types of machine, one is for finer yarn and the other is for chunky. But I don’t think it will deal with anything thicker than that.

I sure if you look online you will find some tutorials and get a feel for it from that.

Theres a very steep learning curve when you first start.
