I love the feel of it and it's so very warm, but I can't be doing with looking like an Easter egg! I was thinking dark purple. Would it work though?

No. You can only dye natural fibres or fabric that is a mix of natural and synthetic. This 100% polyester fleece won't take dye.

Polyester doesn’t dye well, natural fabrics take dye best.

You’d be better looking for something similar in the colour you want.

You can get polyester dyes but you need to boil the water on the stove for a couple of hours to make it set. Which , I presume, would remove all the soft fluffyness feel from the material.

Polyester can't easily be dyed. Dunelm have a range of colours of the hoodie though, camo for instance?
I was desperate for a dark green one last year and actually sewed one from a Dunelm blanket.

Take a look at Rit Dye. They have dyes for polyester. I’m girding my loins to try it out on 2 sweatshirts I have that turn out to be more polyester than cotton.

if you’re on Instagram, look them up, because they’re dyeing all sorts of stuff. Trainers, skateboard wheels….
