How easy would it be to take this dress up?

Wasn't sure where to post this, but hope this is the right place.

DD wants to wear this dress www.asos.com/asos-design/asos-design-bridesmaid-pleated-cami-maxi-dress-with-satin-wrap-waist-in-burgundy/prd/200748252 for her school prom. It fits well on top but, because DD is very short, it's probably about 6 inches too long. Before I hunt out a dressmaker, I wanted to check that getting it taken up wasn't a ridiculous idea and/or very difficult/impossible?

There is a lining layer, and then the actual skirt itself is pleated (i.e. lots of material).

Many thanks.

I'm looking at that and wincing a bit. I would think it would be a very time consuming alteration, if feasible at all, unless someone else knows differently? Is it worth showing a dressmaker the listing, or sending a link to it, and getting an estimate? I know this isn't what you want to hear, and it is a lovely dress.

It’s really hard to see what the fabric is in the photos. It looks like it’s a slightly sheer georgette fabric (the overlay material). The lining will be no problem. I think a good alterations person would just do a baby lock hem (like overlocking but very small) on the bottom of the outer layer so not needing to fold up a traditional hem. I think it will be doable!

I image it would be fine with an overlocker

The top fabric I think is a chiffon Plissé and yes its perfectly possible for an experienced dressmaker to take it up.
