I want to make some elasticated bracelets but the stuff I bought could be described as useless as it "gave" the second time the bracelet was stretched.

Can someone link me to the right kind of thing I need to use please?

lol

I don't use elastic much in my jewellery making,I'm more a wire girl but the best stuff that I know of is Beadalon Elasticity,it comes in different diameters but it's incredibly strong.

I'm pretty sure the majority of online jewellery making suppliers would do it.

Failing that Ibought the roll I've had rambling about in my stash for ages, from Hobbycraft.

Hope that helps

I second the Beadalon elasticity. Also where did it give? Was it the knot? What you need to do is seal the knot with glue or clear nail varnish and let it dry before you stretch the bracelet.

Beadalon huh? Righty ho. Thank you

The stuff I have "gave" in the fabric of its very being... i.e. I most probably bought the wrong stuff! Thanks for the tip on the glue though - I bought 10 tubes of superglue the other day as I wasn't sure how to knot properly and thought it might be a good option - glad to have it confirmed!

Ditto - clear nail varnish is good for sealing knots

Stretch Magic is very good. It's very strong and can be knotted or crimped.

I use stretch magic. I also double elastic where possible - 2 separate loops knotted independently. That way if one snaps, the other should hold together.
