As I work for an arts charity I have somehow been roped into doing the craft activities for my toddler group Christmas Fair. I have to come up with a range of activities that kids (age range 3-11?) can do with minimum supervision. The only thing the committee have suggested is customising Ikea wooden frames (which I have done before - very popular - you pay a pound then stick glittery bits/paint them).

Surely I can get lots of ideas from you lot, meaning that I hardly have to think about it?

Making paper snowflakes by folding and cutting bits out!
Making snowmen by sticking cotton wool onto paper cups/polystyrene balls. Decorating them with bits of felt, wobbly eyes, pipe cleaner arms.
Card making- have some very basic cut outs ready for decorating and sticking.
Glitter in any shape or forms goes down well, glitter glues are less messy!
I have loads of craft books, if I get a chance I will take a look for some Xmas inspiration!
When is the fair enid?

I did like the look of that Magic maize from ELC but I don't know how far it would go IYSWIM,or how many you are catering for-may work out too expensive.
I love making "stained glass windows" with my little ones but it is me- I'm afraid that cuts out all the designs and they just stick the tissue paper on the back and decorate with glitter.

while shopping in John Lewis craft dept. My ds' were kept entrertained decorating some foam snowflakes for a tree, my dh was too!! they had glitter pens and tubes of 3d paint. They hung them on the tree that was with it. You could do something like that and let the kiddies make tree decorations. dingles card suggestion will go down well. Or some chrismassy mobiles.

My ds's school fair last year got clear plastic balls from a craft shop, they come in 2 halfs, they painted, glittered, stuck bits to them, charged 50p each, you left them with the teacher and she gave them out the following week, stuck to together with a cholate inside and a piece of string for hanging. They were lovely, we have them to put on the tre again this year. They had plenty of old shirts lying around for the kids to cover up with. parents supervised their own child.

hi enid, if you can get hold of large quantities of wool I recommend making big woolly pompoms - they make great Chrissie decs. White wobbly wool works really well but all colours are fun. Go for fat wool and not too big a hole so they grow quickly.

we made plaster of paris tree decorations - have seen moulds in John Lewis and Baker Ross about £8-9 for a set of 12. The plaster of paris is about £3, and glue a gold thread on, and then lets the kids glitter/paint them. You can also make them into fridge magnets, you get strips of magnets. Baker Ross is brilliant, they delivered in 10 days last week, but you could go for the Express 3 working days delivery for £3.90.

Also good are brownhearts out of funky foam, a small red pom-pom and gold pipecleaners for antlers, and hey presto - Rudolph!

also decorated gingerbread men (from Sainsbuyry's and the icing pens)

or what about good old sweets like pepermint creams using a star shaped cutter ?

or christmas tree cakes - spondge triangles, green icing, lots of smarties, hundreds & thousands, silver balls etc and a chocolate finger for the tree trunk.
