Knitting question ...

I'm knitting a jumper for my dd1, and am being disobedient, using 4.5mm needles instead of 5mm (because my 5mm are in storage, and the shop were out of stock when I bought the wool ...). Please could someone tell me it will all be all right - tension is as it should be so far ...

I'm sure I have some knitting instructions somewhere that tell you to use larger or smaller needles if your tension is too tight/slack in order to compensate. So I guess if you've got the tension right it'll be fine. Should warn you thought that I have minimal knitting experience (remember those '80's bat-winged thingies knitted on one HUGE needle and one tiddly one......)

Tension is the key thing - if you're sure it's right then the jumper should turn out fine.

Did you do a proper tension square? If that's alright you should be fine. It is difficult to chec k your tension when you've only got a little bit on the needle iyswim

thanks all -- I've been knitting much more loosely than usual to compensate, and the tension is working out, so I think it will be okay ...
