Hello all,

I have been trying to purchase a warm cosytoes for my 2.5yr old but not having much luck as she is on the tall side and i want something girly.

I'm getting back into homemade stuff & crafts as I have been busy knitting and making stuff for xmas and im now even having a go at crochet!

So i want to take the plunge and try making a footmuff.

im going to purchase a large pink fleece blanket and wondered is there any patterns I can use or does anyone have any suggestions for how to go about this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I made a fab one for DS that fit into his pushchair, even had slots for the straps to go through!

Basically, I measured the entire length of the pushchair seat, doubled that so when it was folded in half it would fit, then lined it will padding, inside was fleecy material, outside was soft cord, and there was a zipper running along the side and bottom to close it all snugly.

I didn't have a pattern, but as it's a basic tube shape it's not that hard. The slits for the straps where made like you would make buttonholes.

I used a machine for it all.

I had no money at the time, but lots of fabric and wadding tat had accumulated over the years, so was my only option!

Peaple commented and asked where I had bought it, it was so snuggly!

well im definately going to give it a go now, just got to get some materials, dont know if im brave enough to do a zip as this will be my first big sewing project so may do buttons or a sac type thing.

Thanks!

Ok if a zip seems too hard how about velcro? You can buy it in strips and just sew it on, you need to be able to open it to get them in and out easily imo, and buttons would be drafty in the cold.

I could post some photos of the one I made on my profile if that would help give you some idea?

yes please would love to see some pics.

Did think of velcro but think that would turn into a game of lets drive mummy mad kicking it of! May have a look at a velcro/button combo.

going to try and get some fleece tomorrow and will post pics or shouts for help soon!
