Temperature blanket - what temperature?

I'm planning a temperature blanket for next year, i'm just wondering what daily temperature should I use? High, low or average. Or maybe should I do low before the spring equinox and after autumn equinox, and highs in between? So I get some of the 'extreme' colours in.

Or am I overthinking it and it doesn't really matter? Has anyone else made a temperature blanket and what did you use?

I'm making one this year. I use the top temperature on my bbc weather app each day but it doesn't matter as long as you're consistent. I assigned a different colour to bands to 5° chunks of temperature I. e. - 5 to - 1;0 - 5; 6 - 10 etc up to 35°. It's working out okay.

Thank you BeBrave, that's the bands I was thinking of too. Would love to see a photo when it's complete at the end of the year

I’ve seen someone do solid granny squares with the min temp as the first two rounds and the max as the last two rounds. I think they did a square a week. It looked great at the end!

I would use something that is readily available as historical data in case you forget to note the temperature on the day.

Absolutely make sure you can dig out old temperatures...I had to spend longer than you would hope searching back to July the other night Blush (I do highest temp recorded at the airport nearest to us daily)

This is a really good point! I'll try to find somewhere I can check retrospectively

This sounds like a good method too... maybe for my next one!
