Do have a dishwasher? If you have stick them in and take the labels off while they are still steamy/hot

Yes I do but sometimes it seems to bake the glue on harder.

I need to get all the residue off so I can paint them.

Turps or a turps substitute with a Flash magic sponge. Make sure to rinse really well afterwards but it should get all residue off.

WD40 gets all that sticky glue residue off

CeeceeBloomingdale · 17/11/2021 13:50

I normally just use a bit of cooking oil on the sticky bit left behind, that removes it, then wash in hot soapy water.

Oil (veg olive etc) and bicarbonate
Make a paste and run over
Amazing

Gotthetshirt23 · 17/11/2021 14:42

RUB over Hmm

RhinestoneCowgirl · 17/11/2021 14:45

I bought some stuff called 'sticky stuff remover' from local pound shop, it dissolves the glue so you can wash it off with normal washing up liquid.

Oh. No does it.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 17/11/2021 15:09

Soaked them, rubbed a smear of oil on them then a good scrub with a brillo pad, worked a treat. Just did 20 bottles since my last post- fab !

Yay, a very productive afternoon. What are you making?

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 17/11/2021 17:23

I paint mandalas on the bottles and use a battery cork light thingy so they look all pretty and sparkly. I sell them at a local market.

Wd40 then wash clean with hot soapy water

thenightsky · 18/11/2021 09:19

Nail varnish remover

nannybeach · 18/11/2021 09:22

Plastic film or paper? Paper I remove with a metal scrunchy scourer. If you put jars with them in the dishwasher, you run the risk of blocking it

They sound gorgeous, hope they sell well
anniegun · 18/11/2021 11:35

Acetone - nail polish remover. Only on glass though- not plastic

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 18/11/2021 17:44

Best method so far-

Soak in hot soapy water with a dash of vinegar.

Pick labels off and scrub with a Brillo pad.

Run them through the dishwasher.

Works a treatSmile

Thanks CeeceeBloomingdale flying off the stall, can't paint them fast enough Grin
