Help! Best way to mend large moth holes (photos of the carnage attached!)

Last year I invested in some lovely Disana knitwear for DS.... well it totally backfired as I’ve just got it out to find massive moth holes in the hat and scarf. I could actually cry!!

The hat is not so bad and just needs a little stitch or two, but the infinity scarf has a large patch with lots of holes. (See picture)

Could someone please advise the best way to fix it. At the moment I’m looking at investing in a Speedweve and doing a nice visible mend, or just making the infinity scarf a little smaller by cutting out the worst section and seeing it together.

Any suggestions would be really welcome!

Look up how to darn.
You will find YouTube and other tutorials on how to darn jumpers, socks other knitted things.

Yes, look up some tutorials, OP. It's not as bad as it looks - those holes will pull together, to an extent, at least. Personally, I'd use sewing cotton rather than wool, as that adds less bulk. The way I do it is to try to sew through the middle of the wool, so the mending cotton is hidden.

I tend to use embroidery threads for wool knits myself. It’s easier to get an exact colour match and you’re not buying a big ball of the stuff.

I would do visible mending and make it a ‘thing’, lots of lovely ideas on Pinterest and YouTube.

I have a jumper like that and I am thinking of needle Felting with wool. The only other thing would be to felt it if it is pure wool. Not sure if it would work. I am going to felt another jumper and make a cushion cover and some stockings.
