Looking for a gift for a 14 year old who crochets and sells small gifts .Any recommendations/links for something interesting. Can spend about £10-£15. Thankyou.

What sort of gifts does she sell? If they need things like safety eyes, key rings or other "extras" you could get some of those rather than specifically crochet stuff. She may have a favourite hook or yarn already.

There are probably some great books too but it's difficult to recommend one without knowing what she likes to make.

Agree with @SoupDragon, if she's competent enough to make items to sell, she may want to do more of the same or do something larger for her, like a blanket or hats, fingerless gloves etc. and recommendations would depend on what she wants to do. I'd avoid yarn as decent wool is £££, so you'd have a very small gift for your budget, but you could get a couple of 2nd hand books for that budget.

Sorry, for herself

Sells on Etsy .Bunting ,small animals, gift tags. Love the 'extra ' ideas. Thankyou for replying both of you.

These books on Amazon focus on small items which she could sell and look appealing to an younger crocheter (some are sooo staid in their design and photos):

Kawaii
Tiny Trinkets
Mini Amigurumi

Just a heads up anything that resembles a toy has to be safety tested before sale and correctly labelled. Especially selling online as there is a £5,000 fine for not doing so.

I love my yarn bowl, was only cheap in Flying tiger but stops the ball of wool rolling around the floor or off the sofa when I'm working.

Other ideas: Does she have a project bag, does she ever take her crochet out and about with her or move from room to room? you can get little bags for yarn that have holes in the side so you can keep the yarn safe and in a bag while you work.

If she's using cheap crochet hooks, you could buy a nice set or just a single hook in the size she uses most. I like the Prymm ergonomic ones, a big step up from the metal ones from the supermarket or wilko.

Some nice stitch markers, you can get really pretty fancy little ones with beads or resin charms of pretty much anything.

Slightly off topic but I have some turtledove cashmere wrist warmers as can't crochet with gloves on but sometimes get chilly hands in the winter, even with the heating on, so these are lovely warm and soft.

I think hooks are a very personal choice though. I actually prefer the cheap metal ones to the ones with any kind of handle on them.

How about a light up hook. Normally has different heads to change the size and makes it easier to crochet in poor light.

oneboy3girls · 29/10/2021 10:15

Cupcake. Thankyou, will look into that as well.

Maybe something like this with lots of colours.

shivbo2014 · 29/10/2021 13:20

I crochet and people have bought me gifts such as books, hooks and yarn and honesty although it's lovely they tried to get something that they know I love the books wernt to my taste as I don't crochet the things included, I have my hooks that I'm verrrrry fussy about and yarn I would definitely want to choose myself really. I know that sounds bad. How about a voucher from Wool Warehouse? Or if it definitely needs to be a gift I think a yarn bowl would be nice.

Thankyou Sugar and 2014 for your replies,

I'm a prolific knitter, mostly gifts for other people's babies/young children (think hundreds in last few years😳) and my best friend has bought me things like big bags of lovely wooden buttons, stitch holders, needles for sewing up (which you need for crocheting too), cute automatic wind back tape measures, one is in the shape of an applique cottage (plenty of nice ones which would make a nice present & always need to measure your work when following a pattern) safety eyes if she makes soft toys, rings if she makes keyrings and I love being given yarn, even if not to my taste it always suits something or someone. I'm also not keen on pattern books as often only one or two things in a whole book that I might like whereas easy to get patterns off the Internet.

Moss. That was useful
