I am thinking about getting cricut, but unsure. Which one would be best for a complete novice with dreams of one day making products to sell?
Thanks

Skip the Joy unless you're sure you just want to make cards (it's really limited by its size). Maker cuts more stuff like leather and wood and engraves, but the Air is inbetweeny - does card, faux leather, vinyl.

Out of those - I personally wouldn't bother with the version 3 models - the only difference is they cut the "smart" stuff you don't need a mat for - which is hideously expensive and wasteful anyway compared to buying from other sources.

I've got an Air 2 which does what I want it for - vinyl and card cutting basically - mainly making endless fucking keyrings the kids request for their mates at school, and "oh my mum can make you that t-shirt" random requests.

@ThatDreamSheep

This may be too late for you, but I’d go for a Maker if finances allow and the Air if not.

The Joy is simply too small for any larger designs and there’s loads of things you can’t do. The Air is really good, but the Maker can just cut so much more. I wouldn’t bother getting the newly released Maker. I’ve spent a while researching it and the only differences seem to be that it cuts a bit faster and you can use their Smart vinyl. However, the normal machines already cut pretty quickly and Cricut vinyl is like marmite, so if you don’t get on with it, the benefit is lost.
