Advice from a seamstress needed!

Hello! I think what I'm envisaging should be possible but am entirely clueless so here for help. I've fallen in love with the below wedding dress but the train is quite a lot, and my venue is quite 'rural' so it would be dragging through grass and gravel most of the time and would probably become a hassle.

I don't want to lose it altogether, but would a good seamstress be able to rework this into a little neat puddle train without losing the look of the dress?

Would have the additional benefit of then not being exactly the same shape as my previous wedding dress-- Blush

Oh yeah, find a seamstress associated with a bridal shop.

Definitely, lots specialise in bridal work. The other option would be to get them to add 3 or so covered buttons so that you could bustle the train up when you needed to.

I am a seamstress, it is doable I think.

A puddle train would also get filthy in the circumstances you describe?

ImInStealthMode · 08/08/2021 11:34

@Solasum I don't mind it getting dirty, of course it will.

I just think that a smaller/lighter amount of fabric at the bottom will be easier to manage on uneven/rough/natural surfaces than a long one.

Thanks all for the responses 🙂
